Lemming Theology

“Hi. I’m Mark, and I’m a recovering lemming.”

“Hi, Mark.”

“Like the rest of you in these rooms, I did things I knew to be wrong, just because lots of other people were doing the same things. But my Higher Power, who I choose to call God, went out of his way to get my attention. God gave me over a year of unemployment where I could do little more than think. Among other things, He challenged me to show Him, in His Word, where it says fornication is ok when the act can’t make babies anymore. I couldn’t. I had to conclude I was engaging in behavior that bars entry into Heaven. I had deceived myself and was on my way to being one of the most spiritually-knowledgeable and surprised people to ever enter hell. I repented and got right with God again.”

Outside (heaven) are the dogs, those who practice magic arts, the sexually immoral, the murderers, the idolaters and everyone who loves and practices falsehood.
Revelation 22:15 NIV

There are no permitted “flavors” of sexual immorality. Plain old adultery is in the same category as sex with sheep. All of it disqualifies one to enter heaven. The alternative to heaven is distinctly unpleasant.

God is not mocked. Each of us will reap exactly what we sow. No ifs, ands, buts, maybes or changees. I don’t know if I ever believed in the “Once saved, always saved” doctrine. I sure as hell – and heaven – don’t anymore.

Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows. Whoever sows to please their flesh, from the flesh will reap destruction; whoever sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life.
Galatians 6:7-8 NIV

When sin abounds, it becomes very, very easy to indulge in sin just because it is so widespread. This many of us can’t be wrong! Yes, we can. The broad, easy path to destruction is heavily populated. “Everyone else” is how one can let one’s love for God grow cold. I know. I’ve done it.

Because of the increase of wickedness, the love of most will grow cold, but the one who stands firm to the end will be saved.
Matthew 24:12-13 NIV

On Judgment Day each of us shall stand alone. “But everyone else!” will be no defense.

But, Lord, Lord!” will be a terrible shock for many.

“Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. Many will say to me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name and in your name drive out demons and in your name perform many miracles?’ Then I will tell them plainly, ‘I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!’”
Matthew 7:21-23 NIV

Is your conscience seared as mine was? Pray and ask God to make it tender and effective again. Do it before it is too late. Don’t make God laugh at you.

When Jesus returns, will He find you having faith, or will you be trying to hide in the herd of lemmings?

And the Lord said,“Listen to what the unjust judge says. And will not God bring about justice for his chosen ones, who cry out to him day and night? Will he keep putting them off? I tell you, he will see that they get justice, and quickly. However, when the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on the earth?”
Luke 18:6-8 NIV

Choose to do right, and continue.

Then he told me, “Do not seal up the words of the prophecy of this scroll, because the time is near. Let the one who does wrong continue to do wrong; let the vile person continue to be vile; let the one who does right continue to do right; and let the holy person continue to be holy.”
Revelation 22:10-11 NIV

Are you following God's plan for your life?
   You should.
      Your plan sucks.
      It really, really sucks.
      Suckage Maximus.

Most people are WRONG! WRONG! WRONG!

Jesus is coming.
Are you ready to meet Him?
Give your life to Jesus Christ.
   Time is running out.
