I have read Psalms many times, but recently Psalms 62:8 jumped out at me like I had never read it before.
Trust in Him at all times, you people;
Pour out your heart before Him;
Elohim is a refuge for us. Selah.
Tehillim (Psalms) 62:8 TS2009
I suppose part of the reason it jumped out was in answer to prayer. I had been praying over situations that, frankly, I have no idea what I should do. This is what the Holy Spirit seemed to be saying when I read the verse:
“Trust Me. I’m on those issues.
Keep praying about them. I want to hear your heart.
I am your refuge.”
The message was specific, strong, and comforting. 🙂
I paused reading Psalms to look up these related Scriptures.
5 Trust in the Lord with all your heart,
And lean not on your own understanding;
6 In all your ways acknowledge Him,
And He shall direct your paths.
7 Do not be wise in your own eyes;
Fear the Lord and depart from evil.
Proverbs 3:5-7 NKJV
16 Rejoice always, 17 pray without ceasing, 18 in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.
1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 NKJV
And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.
Romans 8:28 NKJV
I love it when the Bible “comes alive” when I’m reading it. I hope it happens often for you too. 🙂
Jesus is coming soon. Be ready!
4 But you, brethren, are not in darkness, so that this Day should overtake you as a thief. 5 You are all sons of light and sons of the day. We are not of the night nor of darkness. 6 Therefore let us not sleep, as others do, but let us watch and be sober.
1 Thessalonians 5:4-6 NKJV
32 “Now learn this parable from the fig tree: When its branch has already become tender and puts forth leaves, you know that summer is near. 33 So you also, when you see all these things, know that it is near—at the doors! 34 Assuredly, I say to you, this generation will by no means pass away till all these things take place. 35 Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will by no means pass away.”
Matthew 24:32-35 NKJV
34 “But take heed to yourselves, lest your hearts be weighed down with carousing, drunkenness, and cares of this life, and that Day come on you unexpectedly. 35 For it will come as a snare on all those who dwell on the face of the whole earth. 36 Watch therefore, and pray always that you may be counted worthy to escape all these things that will come to pass, and to stand before the Son of Man.”
Luke 21:34-36 NKJV
