Every day I choose whether or not to pray, read the Bible, and do other things I know God wants me to do. With His help I choose to be faithful. Among other things being faithful is the pathway to promotion!
Moreover, it is required of stewards that they be found faithful. 1 Corinthians 4:2 ESV
22 “And he also who had the two talents came forward, saying, ‘Master, you delivered to me two talents; here, I have made two talents more.’23 His master said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant. I am thankful Jesus came to earth to be born a man.

I am thankful that Jesus died in my place, to give me the best possible gift – everlasting life!

The promise of future joy – heaven filled with people He redeemed with His blood – got Him through the trial, the beating, the mocking, and His death on the cross.
Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, 2 looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. Hebrews 12:1-2 NKJV
Future joy is becoming a real force in my life. My favorite part of this well-known passage has changed. It’s no longer escaping this prison by death or rapture, it’s being with the King of kings and Lord of lords!
13 But I do not want you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning those who have fallen asleep, lest you sorrow as others who have no hope. 14 For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so God will bring with Him those who sleep in Jesus.
15 For this we say to you by the word of the Lord, that we who are alive and remain until the coming of the Lord will by no means precede those who are asleep. 16 For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. The first time Jesus came He fulfilled the first part of the Isaiah 61 prophecy.
6 So He came to Nazareth, where He had been brought up. And as His custom was, He went into the synagogue on the Sabbath day, and stood up to read. 17 And He was handed the book of the prophet Isaiah. And when He had opened the book, He found the place where it was written:
18 “TheSpirit of the Lordis upon Me, Because He has anointed Me To preach the gospel to the poor; He has sent Meto heal the brokenhearted, To proclaim liberty to the captives And recovery of sight to the blind, Toset at liberty those who areoppressed; 19 To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord.”
