There are things that happen that show me I’m not 100% sanctified yet. For example if someone passes me on the highway and then slows down so I have to slow down, I can have thoughts of passing them and slowing down – repaying evil for evil. The Bible says not to do that!
Do not say, “I will recompense evil”;
Wait for the Lord, and He will save you.
Proverbs 20:22 NKJV
Do not say, “I will do to him just as he has done to me;
I will render to the man according to his work.”
Proverbs 24:29 NKJV
Beloved, do not avenge yourselves, but rather give place to wrath; for it is written, “Vengeance is Mine, I will repay,” says the Lord.
Romans 12:19 NKJV
See that no one renders evil for evil to anyone, but always pursue what is good both for yourselves and for all.
1 Thessalonians 5:15 NKJV
Do not repay evil with evil or insult with insult, but with blessing, because to this you were called so that you may inherit a blessing.
1 Peter 3:9 BSB
This is The Golden Rule, to do to others as you would have done to you.
“In everything, then, do to others as you would have them do to you. For this is the essence of the Law and the Prophets.”
Matthew 7:12 BSB
Hummm, if trivial traffic can mess me up, how am I going to handle serious matters like real persecution or martyrdom? This is something I need to think and pray about!
Jesus is coming soon. Be ready!
4 But you, brethren, are not in darkness, so that this Day should overtake you as a thief. 5 You are all sons of light and sons of the day. We are not of the night nor of darkness. 6 Therefore let us not sleep, as others do, but let us watch and be sober.
1 Thessalonians 5:4-6 NKJV
32 “Now learn this parable from the fig tree: When its branch has already become tender and puts forth leaves, you know that summer is near. 33 So you also, when you see all these things, know that it is near—at the doors! 34 Assuredly, I say to you, this generation will by no means pass away till all these things take place. 35 Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will by no means pass away.”
Matthew 24:32-35 NKJV
34 “But take heed to yourselves, lest your hearts be weighed down with carousing, drunkenness, and cares of this life, and that Day come on you unexpectedly. 35 For it will come as a snare on all those who dwell on the face of the whole earth. 36 Watch therefore, and pray always that you may be counted worthy to escape all these things that will come to pass, and to stand before the Son of Man.”
Luke 21:34-36 NKJV
