This morning God’s very active protection and deliverance stood out in Psalms 91. Situations may look impossible and hopeless, but God promises to step in to protect and deliver me. He will do for me what I cannot do for myself.
I read and pray Psalms 91 every day, and I highly recommend the habit. Almost every day something in the Psalm stands out to encourage and comfort me. 😊

7 I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.8 Henceforth there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, will award to me on that day, and not only to me but also to all who have loved his appearing. 2 Timothy 4:7-8 ESV
The crown of righteousness is waiting for everyone loving Jesus’ appearing. But there is a warning to the Philadelphia church, the church to escape in the pre-tribulation rapture, about having the crown stolen.
7 “And to the angel of the church in Philadelphia write: ‘The words of the holy one, the true one, who has the key of David, who opens and no one will shut, who shuts and no one opens.
8 “‘I know your works. Behold, I have set before you an open door, which no one is able to shut. I know that you have but little power, and yet you have kept my word and have not denied my name.9 Behold, I will make those of the synagogue of Satan who say that they are Jews and are not, but lie—behold, I will make them come and bow down before your feet, and they will learn that I have loved you.10 Because you have kept my word about patient endurance, I will keep you from the hour of trial that is coming on the whole world, to try those who dwell on the earth.11 I am coming soon. Hold fast what you have, so that no one may seize your crown.12 The one who conquers, I will make him a pillar in the temple of my God. Beware life’s distractions which can lead to the loss of the crown!

The solution is to keep our eyes on Jesus.
Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a huge crowd of witnesses to the life of faith, let us strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily trips us up. And let us run with endurance the race God has set before us.2 We do this by keeping our eyes on Jesus, the champion who initiates and perfects our faith. Because of the joy awaiting him, he endured the cross, disregarding its shame. Now he is seated in the place of honor beside God’s throne. Hebrews 12:1-2 NLT
(The hope of seeing Jesus is a purifying hope!)
2 Beloved, now we are children of God; and it has not yet been revealed what we shall be, but we know that when He is revealed, we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is. 3 And everyone who has this hope in Him purifies himself, just as He is pure. 1 John 3:2-3 NKJV
So let us keep watching for Jesus and not let life distract us!

Paul packed a lot of good information in his short letter to pastor Titus. In this paragraph Paul describes six things grace teaches us.
11 For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men, 12 teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly in the present age, 13 looking for the blessed hope and glorious appearing of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ, 14 who gave Himself for us, that He might redeem us from every lawless deed and purify for Himself His own special people, zealous for good works. Titus 2:11-14 NKJV
We should deny ungodliness and worldly lusts.
We should live soberly.
We should live righteously.
We should live godly.
We should be looking for the blessed hope of Jesus’ appearing.
We should be zealous for good works.
Jude writes to us to contend for the faith, because some teach grace allows us to do whatever we want.
3 Beloved, while I was very diligent to write to you concerning our common salvation, I found it necessary to write to you exhorting you to contend earnestly for the faith which was once for all delivered to the saints. 4 For certain men have crept in unnoticed, who long ago were marked out for this condemnation, ungodly men, who turn the grace of our God into lewdness and deny the only Lord God and our Lord Jesus Christ. Jude 1:3-4 NKJV
Unless they repent, I think a lot of people on YouTube channels I no longer watch will find out that God considers Ephesians 2:10 just as important as Ephesians 2:8-9.
8 For by grace you have been saved through faith; and this is not of yourselves, it is the gift of God;9 not a result of works, so that no one may boast.10 For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand so that we would walk in them. There are just two kinds of people, God’s servants, and not God’s servants.
16 Then those who feared the Lord spoke to one another, And the Lord listened and heard them; So a book of remembrance was written before Him For those who fear the Lord And who meditate on His name.
17 “They shall be Mine,” says the Lord of hosts, “On the day that I make them My jewels. And I will spare them As a man spares his own son who serves him.” 18 Then you shall again discern Between the righteous and the wicked, Between one who serves God And one who does not serve Him. Malachi 3:16-18 NKJV
Am I perfect in the six things grace teaches in Titus 2? No! Thank God for ongoing forgiveness!
8 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. 9 If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.10 If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar, and His word is not in us. 1 John 1:8-10 NKJV
Then I try to forget the past and keep moving forward.
12 Not that I have already attained, or am already perfected; but I press on, that I may lay hold of that for which Christ Jesus has also laid hold of me. 13 Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead, 14 I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus. Philippians 3:12-14 NKJV
Fortunately good works / good fruit happens naturally when we abide in Jesus and He abides in us.
5 “I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears muchfruit; for without Me you can do nothing.6 If anyone does not abide in Me,he is cast out as a branch and is withered; and they gather them and throw them into the fire, and they are burned.7 If you abide in Me, and My wordsabide in you,youwill ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you.8By this My Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit;so you will be My disciples.” John 15:5-8 NKJV

Grace is more than just unmerited favor. It teaches us to live differently than we did before we met Jesus.
13 Therefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and rest your hope fully upon the grace that is to be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ; 14 as obedient children, not conforming yourselves to the former lusts,as in your ignorance; 15 but as He who called you is holy, you also be holy in all your conduct, 16 because it is written, “Be holy, for I am holy.” 1 Peter 1:13-16 NKJV
