Jesus Wrote Parts of the Old Testament for Himself

Jesus emptied Himself when He came to earth to be born.

3 Do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves. 4 Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others. 5 Have this mind among yourselves, which is yours in Christ Jesus, 6 who, though he was in the form of God, did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped, 7 but emptied himself, by taking the form of a servant, being born in the likeness of men. 8 And being found in human form, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross. 9 Therefore God has highly exalted him and bestowed on him the name that is above every name, 10 so that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, 11 and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
Philippians 2:3-11 ESV

Like all other human babies, Jesus didn’t know right from wrong when He was very young.

13 Then he said, “Hear now, O house of David! Is it a small thing for you to weary men, but will you weary my God also? 14 Therefore the Lord Himself will give you a sign: Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a Son, and shall call His name Immanuel. 15 Curds and honey He shall eat, that He may know to refuse the evil and choose the good. 16 For before the Child shall know to refuse the evil and choose the good, the land that you dread will be forsaken by both her kings. 17 The Lord will bring the king of Assyria upon you and your people and your father’s house—days that have not come since the day that Ephraim departed from Judah.”
Isaiah 7:13-17 NKJV

I have come to believe Jesus learned what He was to do from Scriptures now in the Old Testament. As He heard the Word, the Holy Spirit was testifying to Him. Here are two such passages.

61 “The Spirit of the Lord God is upon Me,
Because the Lord has anointed Me
To preach good tidings to the poor;
He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted,
To proclaim liberty to the captives,
And the opening of the prison to those who are bound;
2 To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord,
And the day of vengeance of our God;
To comfort all who mourn,
3 To console those who mourn in Zion,
To give them beauty for ashes,
The oil of joy for mourning,
The garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness;
That they may be called trees of righteousness,
The planting of the Lord, that He may be glorified.”

22 My God, My God, why have You forsaken Me?
Why are You so far from helping Me,
And from the words of My groaning?

4 Our fathers trusted in You;
They trusted, and You delivered them.

You have answered Me.

22 I will declare Your name to My brethren;
In the midst of the assembly I will praise You.
23 You who fear the Lord, praise Him!
All you descendants of Jacob, glorify Him,
And fear Him, all you offspring of Israel!
24 For He has not despised nor abhorred the affliction of the afflicted;
Nor has He hidden His face from Him;
But when He cried to Him, He heard.

25 My praise shall be of You in the great assembly;
I will pay My vows before those who fear Him.
26 The poor shall eat and be satisfied;
Those who seek Him will praise the Lord.
Let your heart live forever!

27 All the ends of the world
Shall remember and turn to the Lord,
And all the families of the nations
Shall worship before You.
28 For the kingdom is the Lord’s,
And He rules over the nations.

29 All the prosperous of the earth
Shall eat and worship;
All those who go down to the dust
Shall bow before Him,
Even he who cannot keep himself alive.

30 A posterity shall serve Him.
It will be recounted of the Lord to the next generation,
31 They will come and declare His righteousness to a people who will be born,
That He has done this.

This happened after Jesus rose from the dead.

25 Then He said to them, “O foolish ones, and slow of heart to believe in all that the prophets have spoken! 26 Ought not the Christ to have suffered these things and to enter into His glory?” 27 And beginning at Moses and all the Prophets, He expounded to them in all the Scriptures the things concerning Himself.
Luke 24:25-27 NKJV

And they said to one another, “Did not our heart burn within us while He talked with us on the road, and while He opened the Scriptures to us?”

Recently I have been reading Isaiah and Jeremiah, and I am being greatly blessed!

Are you following God's plan for your life? 
   You should.
      Your plan sucks.
      It really, really sucks.
      Suckage Maximus.

Most people are WRONG! WRONG! WRONG!

Jesus is coming.
   Are you ready to meet Him?
   Give your life to Jesus Christ.
   Time is running out.

  1. While Jesus was a mere child, He taught in the Temple. Yes, He had so much knowledge already then, that He astounded His audiences. I see something supernatural in that, Godly intervention. He knew the Scriptures well, long before He had the opportunity to study it. Bear in mind WHO Jesus is – The Living Word, with God and being God from the beginning. And, as He was born sinless, did someone really need to teach him the difference between right and wrong? Don’t we err in reducing Jesus to our own human state? Maybe, when we don’t understand exactly Who He is and why He had come. Jesus knew the entire Hebrew Bible so well, quoted with great authority from the inspired writings. As, when Paul called it that, the New Testament was still not in existence – for at least three or four centuries. And the NT refers to the Old no less than 283 times.

      1. It goes beyond a verse, but that verse talks about His crucifixion, not about being raised as a kid or teen. Suggestion: write down every word Jesus spoke as recorded in the Gospels. I did it, was really surprised.

      3. No man could be sacrifice for ous sins, only the sinless Jesus could as He is God, who is sinless. Sinless man cannot pay for another. Remember when He said, “before Abraham was, In AM.” And that John 1 already identifies Him as God, also His name Emmanuel means “God with us.”

    2. I just came across this passage. Verse 3 in the AMPC is interesting. 😊
      “1 AND THERE shall come forth a Shoot out of the stock of Jesse [David’s father], and a Branch out of his roots shall grow and bear fruit. [Isa. 4:2; Matt. 2:23; Rev. 5:5; 22:16.]
      2 And the Spirit of the Lord shall rest upon Him–the Spirit of wisdom and understanding, the Spirit of counsel and might, the Spirit of knowledge and of the reverential and obedient fear of the Lord–
