How much more evil does the world have to get before it is in the great tribulation of the book of Revelation? Not much, in my opinion. That’s one reason I’m expecting the rapture very soon, and therefore I think a lot about seeing Jesus soon. John writes that this expectation of seeing Jesus purifies.
Behold what manner of love the Father has bestowed on us, that we should be called children of God! Therefore the world does not know us, because it did not know Him. 2 Beloved, now we are children of God; and it has not yet been revealed what we shall be, but we know that when He is revealed, we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is. 3 And everyone who has this hope in Him purifies himself, just as He is pure.

I know God wants me to be wholly holy.
15 But just as He who called you is holy, so be holy in all you do, 16 for it is written: “Be holy, because I am holy.”

Work at living in peace with everyone, and work at living a holy life, for those who are not holy will not see the Lord.

Yet I often find myself falling way short of holiness and agree with Paul in Romans 7.
18 For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh) nothing good dwells; for to will is present with me, but how to perform what is good I do not find. 19 For the good that I will to do, I do not do; but the evil I will not to do, that I practice. 20 Now if I do what I will not to do, it is no longer I who do it, but sin that dwells in me.

So I’m quick to repent.
8 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. 9 If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 10 If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar, and His word is not in us.

I think about God’s character from Psalm 103.
3 If You, Lord, should mark iniquities,
O Lord, who could stand?
4 But there is forgiveness with You,

So great is His mercy toward those who fear Him;

So the Lord pities those who fear Him.

I also think a lot about Jesus, what He has done, and what He will do.
Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.
